about
Let It Rain is about my feeling of hopelessness and heartache for the eastern states of Australia when the bush fires hit during the summer of 2019/2020.
I was spending a lot of time preparing for various shows at the time but I was also glued to my phone checking every news site I could for any information or signs of relief from the catastrophic event that was unfolding for so many.
I have a personal connection to the region and am very aware of bush fires and the risk they pose. Let It Rain is a composition I wrote in one sitting - lyrics and music.
lyrics
Look at the ground
Cracked wide open
Look at the field, dry and barren.
We need comfort
We need rain
We need something to look forward to
Let it rain, let it rain, let it rain
Let the sky's above open
Let it rain, let it rain, let it rain
Let it rain, let it rain in need of some comfort we are.
